Meet Our Newest Regional Coordinator: Joe Savage

We are pleased to announce the addition of Joe Savage, Jr., to our National Initiatives Team. Joe is based in Philadelphia, and will cover the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. Our National Initiatives Team members support the extraordinary efforts of leaders in communities who are working tirelessly to end homelessness and drive toward the goals laid out in Opening Doors.

Joe said, “I am excited to be a part of such a great team whose passion for this work is exemplary.”

He brings over 15 years of leadership in the fields of homelessness, affordable housing, economic development, and policy analysis. Joe’s previous roles include:

  • Director of Long Term Housing for the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Supportive Housing (OSH), where he was responsible for overseeing HUD-funded permanent supportive housing and state-funded transitional housing programs for the Philadelphia Continuum of Care
  • Senior Program Analyst at OSH, where he was responsible for the Philadelphia annual consolidated CoC application
  • Statistician for VA’s National Center on Ending Homelessness among Veterans
  • Assistant Director of the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition’s Blueprint to End Homelessness program

Joe has a Ph.D. in Urban Affairs and Public Policy from the University of Delaware and Master’s degrees in Social Work and City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania.

We are also pleased to announce that Richard Cho has become Deputy Director at USICH, and Saralyn Adish has become Chief of Staff.
